BRIEF 02 - YCN STUDENT AWARDS / WHISTLES - DESIGN DECISIONS AND ORGANISATION

J'nae had bought the bottles we were going to use for the project, the concept was solid and as we had a shoot planned for the weekend we needed to organise and plan what we needed to design and what we needed to get from the shoot.

For the shoot:

For the shoot we needed to organise a male model, a female model (both who fit with the Whistles brand ethos), a story board for the film, outfits for the models to wear, and all the design work that we would use in the model shoot.

I also made some notes on the designing we were doing, 'woman' would be black on a white background and 'man' would be white on black. I thought about black on black for the man but that would not work with the contrast as that would them mean the 'woman' would be white on white. This would be a interesting concept but in reality, on a campaign that could be global it would not be as effective as it is works much better on a smaller scale.

To design and print:

This was a list on all of the design work and decisions we needed to work and decide on. Where as we were previously looking at producing a range of products, we decided - due to time restrictions - to focus on the fragrance and the campaign and make these the best we possibly could.

We decided to do two shoots, a shoot with models and a product shoot. For the model shoot the bottles would be there to show interaction between product and person. We also wanted to produce a promotional video to promote the fragrance and add another dimension to the campaign.
